Sophie Henderson is a senior nonprofit and organizational management executive with extensive experience as a consultant to and a staff member of cultural organizations and creative enterprises. Her work focuses on strategic planning, financial planning and management, economic development and government funding, fund development and outreach, and organizational management and operations, including interim executive management, and she has worked with clients and colleagues to develop and implement strategic planning initiatives; oversee long-range organizational and programmatic budgeting and financial management; develop and steward community engagement; develop and steward foundation and government funding processes, from application through compliance; develop integrated communications and branding programs to expand and enhance organizational profile; and develop individual fundraising and cultivation campaigns to expand constituency bases. She has a proven track record in advising organizational leadership to better engage key constituencies, build and manage major new programs, and effectively allocate resources to achieve success, as well as broad staff development and organizational management experience, to build and manage the internal staff and operational infrastructure to support critical operational and outreach activities, and build synergies between activities to achieve success.

Sophie received an M.B.A. from New York University, Stern School of Business, with a focus on Marketing, and an A.B. from Brown University in the History of Art and Architecture. She is a member of ArtTable, a professional organization for Women in Leadership in the Visual Arts, and is an active studio ceramicist. She has been working in the Hudson Valley since 2015, after many years in New York City.
